For rotary tools Dremel provides two cutting bits for grout removal. The grout removal category of rotary tool accessories is represented by the Dremel accessory color code: black.
- Grout removal bits cut in a manner like spiral saw blades and are designed for use in conjunction with the Dremel 568-01 grout removal attachment.
- Note: The recommended tool speed for using grout removal bits is 15,000 to 20,000 RPM to avoid damaging the bit. While in use, do not force the bit or put pressure on the tool to remove grout. Let the speed of the rotating bit do the work.
Grout Removal Bits
The 569 1/16” diameter grout removal bit and the 570 1/8” diameter grout removal bit are ideal for small grout removal projects and removing grout to replace broken tiles. The 569 bit is used for tiles spaced more than 1/16” apart and the 570 bit is used if tiles are more than 1/8” apart. If the bit is too wide for the space between the tiles, you may damage the tile or the grout removal bit. Adjust the multi slide depth adjustment on the grout removal attachment so that no more than 1/8” of the bit extends beyond the base of the attachment.
