I bought Dremel Max Life 117 for a specific project (shaping flat areas and round edges of a model boat hull), and it works so great and as perfect for the job. This bit is sharp and very durable. However, it is important to match the speed to the material you're carving out. All bits get hot during use and the heat will deteriorate the coating ruining the bit quickly. Match the speed to the material and allowing the bit to cool between passes (don't overdo it) and these bits will last for a very long time.

Good advice! Bits are expensive and you should not abuse them for best results and longevity.
