Eagle Feathers cont.

I guess I never posted the picture of my finished eagle wing. I thought it came out nicely. In fact I was so pleased that I jumped right on making the body without really giving it a lot of thought or planning. Oh Dopey Me! I knew that an eagle's wings are 3 times their body length, but failed to take that into account when making the body so it turned out to be 1/3 too big. I don't want to scrap it, so I guess I will have to make another larger wing for that body and now I need to make a smaller body for this one. Ah well, keeps me busy! This wing is about 13" wide and made completely from individual feathers - about 160 of them.Finished Wing.JPG

The feathers look amazing. You are so gifted. I love this work! Can't wait to see the body!

Sorry everyone that wanted to the body and finished eagle.  I have not abandoned the work, but I have been overwhelmed with other projects like a blown furnace, mice in the crawlspace, mold in the attic and cataract surgery and complications.  We do live in the deep woods and there are crtitters and a tree hit the house causing unbeknownst roof leaks.  What joy being a home owner some times.  I will geet back to the eagle by Fall though I can assure you.

Hope you are able to finish the eagle bopdy and post picture soon.  The wings look great and I'm sure took a lot of work.

The detail feathers took a lot of patience to be sure, but the work itself was not hard.  I am going to finish soon I hope.  Sometimes I need to get inspired to get back to things after spending hours  them.  I am also looking at an Orson Wells style Time Machine that I have set some parts aside for.  Maybe another hybrid of 3D printing and metal parts.  I have a definite concept, style and scale already in mind to go with my parts.

I look forward to seeing it soon also. Great work!

Thank you.  I have had my challeneges this year, and I am totally devoted to my new 3Dprinter.  I have over 1,500 hours now since January, but I am going to finish the eagle and I got out parts to make a Time Machine from scratch.   The projects have no end except the time needed to make them.
