Rookie Questions & Statements

Good day,

Hi, Dremel folks, I am an absolute rookie in the Dremel world. I bought the latest edition tool. a Dremel vice, a flex shaft, and some kits. I used the tool to try to clean up some old Vintage mechanic sockets. It worked really well, enough to give me the Dremel bug. I have some knives that have brass bolsters on them that I would like to try to clean and polish back to new. I am unsure of what that process would look like. I have seen some great things in this forum. I would love to get more involved with Dremel projects, but this brass cleanup/polishing will be a good start. I appreciate all suggestions, salute!

Hi Cybertek12, What you describe is something we see all of the time! Once a person knows how to use a Dremel rotary tool, they soon discover more ways it can help them. If you next project involves polishing, I wrote something on the topic a while back. The main thing about polishing is understanding that it is a process of removing material from coarse to medium, to smooth to polished. Here's a link that should help you out HERE.
