Blade wont lock on oscillating tool

TJ

Appears to be an older oscillating tool.  Have a lock/unlock lever not a round dial that I see now.  When I unlock the lever, place the attachment on the tool, and then lock the lever, the attachment is not tight.  The center round pin can be pulled up allowing the attachemnt to be loose.  Using OEM Dremel attachments.  Am I doing something wrong to attachment the attachments?  Thank you for your time.

Hi TJ,

Thank you for contacting us about your oscillating tool.  The oscillating tool models with the locking lever on top of the tool were manufactured from 2012-2019.  From the description you gave us about the locking lever, we know the tool will need to be serviced.  To help you further, someone from our team will be contacting you through email.

Here is a photo of the MM40, but there are a few other models with the locking lever.

Peggy, I am having the same isssue with my MM40 the blade won't stay secure and will pop off when using the tool. How do I go about getting it serviced?

thanks

Peggy. Thanks for the information as I'm in the same boat with my Dremel.  It's exactly what everyone else is saying. I bought it in 2018 or 2019 I think. Neen awhile but rarely use it. Mostly for undercutting door jambs for flooring. I tried to use it yesterday and then I remembered it didn't work great. Not like my old Rockwell one. So I was upset and started searching and found that others have the same issue. What can be done? Is it a part I can change? I was going to go buy a different brand for black Friday but if it can be fixed even better as its lkke new. Lmk thank you.
