We have lived with a rather dull bedroom for the past 24 years, so my wife suggested that we do a little updating. She suggested that something different with the walles would take the room into a more modern look. I suggested a barnwood effect would look good, but then she saw a cool picture of a very modernistic approach to a midcentury house, she showed me the picture of a wall with beautiful vertical slats. We both agreed, that would be the approach for one of our bedroom walls. I bought some very economical pine boards 1x8x6' from a wood outlet. I ripe sawed 4 slats for every board and ended up with 80 slats. Next, the showing edges were rounded with my router, and then finish sanded with my Dremel Multi-Tool. We went to Home Depot and bought a quart of stain and the slats were all stained 3 sides. I attached the slats to 3 horizontal boards to build 2 sections. I attached the sections to the back wall with screw in wallboard fastners. The result is the following pictures.Scone Lights really set it off

Hi jhorstke,
I really like what you've done with your space. Cutting, sanding, and staining, oh my! It all came together nicely and I'm sure you both enjoy sleeping under the rainbow. The best part is that you worked on the room togehter.
Thank you, for sharing your work with our community.

Yes, and after 57 years together we make up a great team. Thanks for the nice comment Dremel-Peggy!
