Large Dremel Projects on Quartz and Marble

DeanUnger

I recently purchased a Dremel 3600 Kit to produce a large 77" x 33" carving in marble, for the Kathok Od Sel Ling Buddhist Centre, in Coombs, BC. The Dremel was durable and dependable and allowed very intricate work in hard stone. Beautiful work and I can imagine that took many, many hours of paitent labor to design, layout and carve.

Thank you. Yes, although I did not track hours. A rough guess - 30 hours.

Hi Dean, How many hours did this take to complete? I looks amazing!

Hi John. I believe around 30 hours for layout, carving, finishing. The dremel diamond bits are excellent for quartz, marble and the like.

Cheers,

Dean

Hi DeanUnger,

Thank you for joining our Dremel Community.  We really do appreciate you sharing your work of art with us all.

You used a Dremel rotary tool, but what bit did you use to carve the marble?

Hi Peggy. Much appreciated. I used the dremel diamond coated bits - I'm unusure the exact names of the bit types / shapes. I'll have a look tomorrow and see if I can find specifics.

Cheers,

Dean
