What is this?

Hello there folks

I just got a Dremel 3000 and there is some kind of unit at the tip of the tool.

I can't seem to find out how to loosen it or take off, what is this?

Hi Arnar,

It looks like someone has used this 3000 before you. What you are looking at is a portion of either the cutting guide attachment or the grout removal attachment. The outer ring of the attachment is missing. Below the red arrow is the blue shaft lock button. Push that button and grasp the portion of the attachment an unscrew it from the tool housing. Be sure to keep the shaft lock button pressed in while you unscrew the attachment. Once that is off of the tool look for the housing cap and thread that on. The owner's manaul can help you out from there or feel free to continue this conversation.

Thanks a lot DremelJohn, it worked!

It seems like I don't have the housing cap, might have to order one from spare parts.
